All systems go for rm*

Ground-breaking animation and 3D specialists rm* have completed installation of their testing centre at TVI studios.
The company – pronounced “RM Star” -- was created by artists turned entrepreneurs Deborah Norton and Gaylie Runciman, who met while completing post-graduate studies at Glasgow School of Art’s prestigious Digital Design Studio.
rm* moved into TVI’s digital media base in Glasgow last year, and have now completed installation of a test area for 3D stereoscopic projection. The technology that is attracting attention from a range of businesses and organisations in sectors including events management, architecture, construction, media and manufacturing.
“We’re showing the technology off to small groups of people from these industries and the feedback is tremendously exciting,” commented Gaylie Runciman. “We first showed this in public a year or so back at Designersblock as part of London Design Week, and its possibilities are starting to take hold in the imaginations of people who are seeking new ways to promote their work to key audiences.”
rm*, previously voted Scottish Tastemaker of the Year, also undertake 2D animation, video and web-related design work for a range of clients. “We have a fairly unique range of work including e-cards, websites, comic strips and animation,” said Deborah Norton.
“We’re also working with TVI both in video production and in broader business development.”
